November 15th, 2014 is Municipal Voting Day

On November 15th, 2014 there will be an election for one Mayor and six Councillors to provide governance for the District of Tumbler Ridge for a four year term.


*Candidate Packages are available at the District Office.

Who Can Run for Council?

A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:

  • Canadian Citizen
  • 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day;
  • Resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
  • Are not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an Election in BC or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office. 

Nomination Information

Nomination documents for persons interested in running for the officer of Mayor or Councillor are available at Town Hall.

Nomination documents must be filed with the Chief Election Officer during the nomination period of September 30th through October 10th, 2014.
