Mount Spieker

Mount Spieker offers excellent wide open alpine hiking just short distance from Tumbler Ridge. The actual summit of mount Spieker is 1971 m and lies to the east along a gentle 4 km long alpine ridge.

Hiking

Hiking around Mount Spieker starts at the saddle of the mountain, which shows beautiful views from all directions. From the saddle there are three choices for alpine hiking: southwest, east and north.

Biking

These trails are often used for mountain biking.

Snowmobiling

Follow the Bullmoose mine road for 17 km and turn left onto the Windfall Creek Forest Service Road. Just before an electrical substation, turn left and there you will find a ‘parking lot’ where you can offload. You and your family and can enjoy a nice leisurely ride approximately 25kms to the bus, where you can warm up and have a lunch! There are also lots of side trails that lead to mountainous ranges for the advanced rider. You can go to trridgeriders.com to view more riding trails.

Warning

Make sure you are properly equipped when snowmobiling. Always carry avalanche packs, probes, beacons, GPS, etc. Not all areas are marked and weather can change in an instant.
